Music & Entertainment
Every year, the Dublin Horse Show provides an excellent entertainment programme for all visitors to the Show. This year we are introducing new acts for the whole family to enjoy throughout the RDS venue. Many acts will be roaming around the Showgrounds thoughout the five days of the Show.
The Band Lawn is the location for most of the interactive, fun entertainment. This year, the Dublin Horse Show is hosting special theatrical performances where unique acrobatic and clown performers will keep the whole family entertained with audience participation. Several daily shows are also scheduled for the duration of the festival. These include Brian Daly, Ireland’s most-loved, family magician, who will bedazzle and befuddle with his mind-blowing, jaw-dropping trickery and side-splittingly funny daily shows.
Other acts at the Show:
Manila Strings/Viva Manila
Manila Strings and Viva Manila return this year, with an extensive repertoire of hits. Catch them at the Dublin Horse Show on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday.
Conor the Capall
The Dublin Horse Show wouldn’t be the same without its mascot Conor The Capall, who will be trotting around all day, every day, always ready to pose for a selfie!
Yer Man's Puppets
Magical, imaginative and funny storytelling is to be expected from Yer Man’s Puppets Show. This perfectly crafted puppet show promises to entertain, inspire and amaze all the family. Just watch all the characters spring to life. This gem of an Irish act will be on hand to entertain on Friday and Saturday on the Band Lawn.
The Havana Club Trio
Sample the sounds and atmosphere of Havana in Dublin. This Latin walkabout trio play Cuban and Latin music as they go, bringing that sunshine and cheer throughout the grounds of the RDS. The stylish trio, dressed in white suits and Panama hats, will perform their unique playlist, which includes a great mix of chart hits and salsa. They will be gracing the RDS Grounds on Friday and Saturday this year.
Irish Dance Showcase
It wouldn’t be a true Irish summer programme without including some fancy footwork and Irish dancing! Young, talented dancers will be performing a mix of contemporary and traditional Irish dance on the band lawn and can also be spotted popping up around the grounds for impromptu ceili dance moments.
The ever popular Keelings Kids' Zone will keep the kids entertained with an inflatable slide and bouncing castle, an activity zone, as well as face painting and pony rides.
From Dancing Fish to Fiddling Foxes, Gardaí on (inflatable!) horseback and Friendly Celtic Giants, the Dublin Horse Show has a whole host of new characters to meet and greet during your visit to the Show.
If equestrian artistry and acrobatics excite you, then prepare to be amazed and exhilarated by acclaimed equestrian artist, Lorenzo the Flying Frenchman, who will perform twice daily at this year’s Dublin Horse Show. This will be Lorenzo’s début performance In Ireland. In a 30-year career, he has astounded audiences across the world, from Belgium to Bahrain.
The aptly-named Flying Frenchman draws gasps from his audiences, as he soars over jumps on the backs of his incredibly well-trained mounts, often while controlling another four horses. The level of trust between Lorenzo and his magnificent horses is particularly evident when he works with them without a bridle or saddle. Lorenzo shows both the daredevil side to equestrian sport, and the importance of a strong and respectful bond between horse and rider. This is a rare chance to witness a display of Lorenzo’s expertise on Irish soil which will please horse-lovers and thrill-seekers alike.
