Equestrian Information

Owners wishing to have a horse considered by Horse Sport Ireland for international competitions only, must make a request for an invitation with the  RDS by completing an official International Competition Invitation Request Form by the close of entries (1 July 2011).  Only horses and riders that a request has been completed for will be considered for an invitation to compete in international competitions.  This list will be sent to Horse Sport Ireland for their consideration and recommendation.  International Competition Invitation Request Forms are available on www.dublinhorseshow.com.

The top three riders in the Premier Series, following the event in Tattersalls (24 July), will be invited by the RDS to compete as Irish Individual riders at the 2011 Discover Ireland Dublin Horse Show.  Only riders who have completed and returned an International Competition Request Form for each of their prospective mounts, by close of entries on 1 July, will be eligible to compete.

A total of 8 places will be reserved for nominations for International riders representing Ireland at CSIO events, during the qualifying period.  While preference will be given to Irish-based riders, these places will not be exclusively retained for Irish-based riders.  In all cases the nominated horse(s) must be ridden by the international rider involved and will be subject to the overall limit of 8 horses per rider in national show jumping classes at the Show.  Riders availing of this rule will only be allowed to nominate horses in the 5 and 6 year old classes.  Riders must be members of, and nominated horses must be registered with Show Jumping Ireland for the current season, prior to the first qualifying competition.

Recommendations as to the allocation of such places will be made by Horse Sport Ireland.
