20. MARE or GELDING, 4 or 5 years old. Over 148cms but not exceeding 158cms.
To be ridden by Riders who have attained their 14th birthday by 1 January 2017.

21. MARE or GELDING, 6 years old or over. Over 148cms but not exceeding 158cms.
To be ridden by Riders who have attained their 14th birthday by 1 January 2017.

Aim

To display the quality, temperament and conformation required of a Small Hunter.

The Small Hunter should be a blood horse. He should be short of leg, with a good deep body and should have a lot of character and presence with an exemplary temperament.


Eligibility

Horses competing in the Small Hunters cannot compete in Classes 1 - 11 (Show Hunters), Classes 18 & 19 (Sportsman (Amateur Hunters)) and Classes 25 & 26 (Riding Horses).


Entry Fee

RDS Members: €295 each entry; Non-Members: €325 each entry.


Rules

Exhibits in the Small Hunters must have a current and valid measurement under the Show Jumping Ireland / Irish Pony Society Measurement Scheme and their passports must be available on arrival for inspection.

Cups & Trophies

Cup No. 35 – Perpetual Challenge Cup for the Best Small Hunter in the Show. The first and second prize winners in Classes 20 and 21 will compete for this Cup.


Parade

Champion and Reserve Champion are required to participate in the Parade of Champions on Friday 11 August.  Further details available here.
