Suitable for and to be ridden by riders who have attained their 12th birthday by 1 January 2017.

75. REGISTERED CONNEMARA PONY, MARE or GELDING, six years old or over.
Suitable for and to be ridden by riders who have attained their 17th birthday by 1 January 2017.

74. REGISTERED CONNEMARA PONY, MARE or GELDING, six years old or over.
To be ridden by riders who have attained their 10th birthday but have not attained their 17th birthday by 1 January 2017.

76. REGISTERED CONNEMARA PONY, STALLION, four years old or over.
Suitable for and to be ridden by riders who have attained their 14th birthday by 1 January 2017.

Aim

To demonstrate the traits of the Connemara Pony, good temperament, rideability, intelligence, soundness, surefootedness and suitability for child or adult.


Entry Fee

RDS Members: €170 each entry; Non-Members: €200 each entry.


Rules

There will be a maximum of 20 entries per class. The first 20 correct primary entries received will secure entry. Please note there may be additional secondary entries in the above classes.

Registered Connemara Ponies must be entered in the Connemara Pony Stud Book or a daughter studbook.

Spurs are not permitted.

Cups & Trophies

Cup No. 150 – The “Eugenia Murray” Perpetual Challenge Cup presented for the Ridden Connemara Championship.  First and second prize winners in Classes 73, 74, 75 and 76 will compete for this Cup.  The Champion will be awarded €320 and Reserve Champion €172.


Parade

Champion and Reserve Champion of the Ridden Connemara Championship and the first and second prize winners in the Ridden Connemara stallion class are required to participate in the Parade of Champions on Friday 11 August. Further details available here.
